lab22 blob brush tool

The blob brush tool is used to create freehand drawings. It does not create paths but instead it lets you create images and then it allows to edit them freely. For this lab we had to come up with our image and test our skills on splitting it in half. Once we selected the blob brush tool, we changed the stroke color and fill as well. Then we started our selection. Using the eraser tool we split it in half and lastly using the selection tool, we chose one of the halves and clicked on them the changed was made this possible for letting the side edit independently.

While learning how to use the pencil tool we also had an introduction to the Illustrator program including the stroke color, fill color, brush preset, the graphic style within others. First you select the pencil tool, then you select your stroke color where you will find a variation of styles. After that you can start creating your image and end it by simply letting the mouse bottom go. If you are not satisfied with the results you can still modify the creation by going to the selection tool and selecting the stroke you want to edit. Then you can actually select a style on variable width profile and select an style you will notice the change.

Adding parts made of brushes can also improve the appearance of your figure. There are five main types of brushes available in Illustrator including calligraphic brushes, scatter brushes, art brushes which splits the object evenly from the path, the bristle brushes and the pattern brushes which can include up to five tiles. The brushes panel displays a variety of brushes that vary within a group of sizes or styles. To add more brushes just go to the panel menu and click on the ones you wish to add, it will automatically appear to your list. You can also specify different options for the different types of brushes chosen by double clicking on them, the bristle brush options panel will show off there you can change the length, density, opacity and thickness.

Feathering

This lab was about blend, feather and smooth. We had to select a picture which we would be sure that, that image had some rough edges or something obvious to select. I chose a classic car. First we had to make a selection using the lasso tool and I must accept my selection wasn't good enough. (I could have done better) And after that we would press select and redife edge which was like an editor and optional to use in case your selection wasn't perfect as in my case I tried to improve it. And then I created a mask and as it was done in a previous lab we had to duplicate four times the image and had to add effects on it such as hue or saturation among others. That is the part I was missing but I did learn new skills about how to improve rough edges and improving its smooth areas.

Brochure

Project 8 I would say it's been one of the most hard projects we have done so far due to the fact that we had to work in teams, and not just that but also come up with original ideas to make our work appealing and to focus on getting the readers attention. I was the researcher of my team and along my group contributed to it. This was all done using InDesign and obviously outside information and we decided to advertise a zoo because having in mind the season and time of the year we are at, we thought that it will be something that would call attention specially to children and also to provide information and encourage people to go and visit because it is an interesting place to spend a weekend at. And lastly I would say that this activity helped us all to learn to listen to each other and contribute. We are using one of the most important soft skills that is team work which consists on mainly giving credit to all of those that tried to help and include basic teachings as well.

Puppet Warp

This lab was all done to pretty much make us all practice out skills on learning how to use new tools. In this case we practiced the use of puppet warp. First I had to chose an image that was more preferable to have its sides separated from its own. I selected my image and then I started to mark pins on areas I wanted to move so I ended up with moving the individual's head, arms and legs. I think it was a fun activity because we are not just learning new skills but also it will help us on our future as a designers and to use our creativity shown on new ideas. And also I think I could have done a better job finishing my work on time which I will try to work on the next time!

critical thinking and problem solving

This could also help you relate to what is has been going through tough situations but not finding the answer to solve them with an adequate attitude. Well this topic can include specially being patient and taking things easy. Thinking about it before doing it because one mistake can ruin your professional career. And it will also help you in your job, your manager will be more proud of you if you show him that you are able to take initiative at all times and can be independent.

Professionalism

Professionalism I can say it is a source if succeeding during an interview but it mainly applies during work days. You want to be hire based on how you take control of what you are left in charge of and how you take responsibility of your work showing that you are taking things serious. And another thing you can do is take initiative, don't just do what you are being told to but if you know that you can do something else to improve your day of working then go ahead and make your manager proud of having a person like you on their company.

Enthusiasm and Attitude

I think the video showed to us in class was clear enough to understand that enthusiasm and coming prepare to an interview and with attitude would be at least more than half of what the person that is hiring you wants. This includes being on the appointment in time, good business attire and having your material ready. It will not be difficult if you are willing to go for it and show this person that you are always going to have a good attitude and positive thinking towards succeeding. 

Synopsis

Synopsis I would say is the one that basically includes all the purposes of why getting ready for an interview is important. It's all about keeping the enthusiasm and maintaining a positive mind that will lead you to open opportunities. Communication as well because it is the main purpose of why you are on the position you are in and want to show the rest what you've got. But someone is not just going to hire you for that but also because you got skills such as working as a team, They are looking for people that likes to share ideas and responsibilities with others and will give credit to their team. And a last thing they are all looking for is professionalism, which basically is dressing properly, be respectful and be prepare among others.

Team Work.

Team work would also be consider as the most valuable thing for most of your partners at your job. It is important that when doing a project, presentation or even just a simple work given to you, that you give credit to every single person that helped you no matter if the help was a little or way to much. But it is also important that the person that is trying to help you has good intentions on helping and has the same goal as you in this case would only apply goals related to work, such as goals of wanting to succeed as an employee, and always having a positive thinking.

Communication skills

 

Communication skills is probably one of the most important skills that must be shown during an interview and at all times during a work day. It is important because that you show the listener that you are the type of person that gives clear detail about certain topic, that likes to share ideas and also the type of person that talks with respect and uses permitted vocabulary so that certainly tells a lot about your personality.

PJ#7 Respect for all GIF

For this project I had to create a GIF which topic was "Respect for All". First a chose a topic and started thinking about its actions. My GIF is about a different type of respect which is respect for nature. It shows a girl dropping water to a plant in order for it to grow. I think it was a good idea because not everyone nowadays give plants the same respect as of humans even though is the most important source for us. And I also think that this project will help us on later on ideas we may have and help us grow as designers.

Lab#11 GIF

For Lab 11 I had to create a timeline video in other words I learned how to create GIF document. Using the pentagon shape I first added a background color and then I included my shape.But not before rasterizing my layer. After that I started marking diamonds and changing position and style.  It was fun experiencing with new tools because that way we get ready for later on projects and will  help us on our future and also make us better designers using our creativity.

CTE Expo

The CTE Expo was done yesterday  Thursday february the 12th at the web design computer lab in room 237. The CTE program was all done for freshman students so that we could encourage them to join this academy and during the process show them our projects, and talk to them about all the activities done since the beginning. Also we had to tell them all the possible credits that they could get joining the academy including how they would get benefited from it.

We did it as we saw this students coming in, they got a paper with all the information of the academy on it and we then were calling them to our project and explained them what this all thing was about. The results from this gallery or walk were successful due to the fact that freshman students looked excited viewing our work and the opportunity to express our creativity in here not just for fun, but also to learn new things. Also because many of them as I could relate would want to compete for a spot out of three hundred students, so many of them would want to prove and take as a challenge the fact that they believe in themselves and would do the right thing to get into the academy. So it is a challenge worth taking.

project process

To do my project I first created a draft of my written work including what my project contained, how I did my logo using photoshop, how I did my business card using InDesign and also how difficult it was to come up with the final work. Following this process helped me be more efficient by using the draft to correct my mistakes and avoiding any wrong answers or even grammar errors. I could have improve my project by generally completing it and presenting it on a board as it was being asked.

reflection journal fall term

In my opinion I did average, to be honest I could have done a better job to improve my grades and hand my work in on time, also I could have come in on after school or at any opportunity offered to me by my teacher to make up missing assignments. During the fall term I learned basic skills on photoshop including the design of a logo and using InDesign to create a business card. What was particularly fun or enjoyable were many labs including the bubble head, the Andy Warhol's  portrait because I think it is a good opportunity for many of us to share our talent and to show our teacher that we do pay attention in class. And what was particularly a challenge for me were certain labs specially when we were missing even one step it could fix everything. This term I could improve by completing all my work and basically working using my time wisely. Everything I experienced is vital because what I've learned are basic skills that I might be using throughout my life or even help me on my career.

PRJ#6 LOGO

For this project we had to create a logo for our company. I used the custom shape tool, the line tool, the polygon tool, and the horizontal type tool. My initial goals for this project was to make my logo clear and understandable. My end goals were achieved by the end because many people understood my point.My logo represents a soccer ball with a pair of hands in the middle which were supposed to be gloves and the word goal on goalkeeper world would also mean personal goals wanted to be achieved. One graphic design principle I used the most is repetition & space within the lines.

Reflection journal lab#10

Draft 1

The purpose of this lab was to create two business cards. The first one to express your idea and create a kind of sample of how you wanted it to look like and the second draft was kind of like the final draft because we were suppose to add detail make it look organized and also be creative just so we make sure it calls the readers attention.

Draft 2
