Lab#9

For this lab I used different shapes from the brush tool to get to know them better and practice them. There were minimum hundreds of shapes to chose from. But for this lab we were supposed to use the ones that we found more interesting. You will find all this shapes clicking on the brush tool and going on it's menu. My favorite one is the large roses with chromo. I think this lab will be useful for later on projects. In order to make it look organized I used the line tool to make horizontal and vertical lines with the help of grid. And then using the horizontal type tool I named the kind of shape that I was using.

Lab#8 vector shapes

In this lab we learned how to use different shapes and we practiced them. Using the rectangular tool, the rounded rectangular tool, the ellipse tool, the polygon tool, the line tool and the custom tool. We chose 23 different shapes from the areas named before and we arranged them. Using the line tool I divide each section to make it look more organized. Then I started choosing my shapes. I could put effects on them going to menu I could combine shapes, subtract front shape, intersect shape areas or exclude overlapping areas. Then using the horizontal type tool I named each figure and at the last square I put my name. I prefered the custom shape tool because it has many figures to chose from.

project#3 photo restoration

On this project I used different tools including the patch tool, dodge tool, clone stamp tool, and the spot healing brush tool. This project was really challenging because there were a lot of failures
on the photo and it required dedication to fix it. I used the spot healing brush tool to bring areas from a clear area to the damaged area for example the arms or the dresses. The patch tool I replace certain damage areas. With the dodge tool I lighten the skin and make it look like the rest of the skin body in other words make it even. And to erase some dots left around the skin I used the clone stamp tool.
I think I did a good job on my project because I used different tools and tried to improve the quality of the picture.

Lab#7

In this lab we practiced tools to edit different images. First we place a photo where we could be able to see a clear face or just a full body. We named the layer of this photo liquify because we added different effects to the picture. After this photo we added another picture which only requirements were to have a clear view. We duplicated this layer five times and arrange them in order so they will look even and organized. After that we rasterize all five layers and added different filters by clicking filter>filter gallery, and there you chose the style of your preference but it must be clear. You name the layer with the effect you chose and using the type tool you name the picture with the effect you chose as well. As a last step we added a background clicking filter>render>clowth not before using the color of your preference.
I think I did a good job because I followed all the steps and I named all layers correctly also I put clear pictures and included a background.

Project#4 Reflection

I pick Paul Walker because he is one out of many famous actors that has a foundation made for animals and homeless children. Inside the cutout I put the movie that helped him gain a lot of international fame. He played the role of Brian O'Conner on a street racing action film known as "Fast & Furious". Under the film I put the logo of his foundation "Reach Out Worldwide" This foundation is composed of a team that helps all those affected by natural disasters and humanitarian crises. I also put the started of his career as a toddler where he appears on a Pampers commercial. And I included a car which shows that Paul was passionate by cars being that he spend almost all his adolescence on street races. The mask selection make the silhouette work because it goes around the character describing him. I chose words that described Paul as a well known actor and achievements to help society. What did work on this project was the steps given in class i think I followed them but one which was filling in the mask with images I am missing four images so I will work on managing my time and using it wisely.

LAB #6

In this project we used many different tools for different pictures. On the top right picture I used the spot healing brush tool to get rid of the sprinkles and the history brush tool to add grass on the grey corner. For the top left picture I used the patch tool to get rid of the bullets and other left marks, the spot healing brush tool and the content aware move tool. For the down left I used the blur tool to make it look blurry or not focused, the smudge tool and the sharpen tool. And for the down right picture we clicked on layer-new fill-and we then chose the one we liked in my case I chose the diamond and then I clicked on type tool to write on it.

Self Evaluation

For this marking period I think I did well I handed most of my homework on time but I make sure I completed them, but I'm sure I tried my best. I need to improve on assignments and home works. Even though I missed a single assignment on the MP1 I hope I will make it work better and spend more time on my work. And my goal is to get at least an 80 average for the MP2.

Andy Warhol Portrait essay

Andy Warhol is an American artist known for his artwork knows as "pop art”. I would buy his artwork because is known that he creates his art inspired by people and the results are successful. When looking at his art it remains me of the early times and makes me think of the age they were living at. Also based on the concentration and how he tried to make every single piece of art perfect, I can tell that somehow he was living on a peaceful age. The association is pleasant and important. Critics in popular culture about his paintings might be all about how he uses repetition on several cases. But in popular culture would affect the most because by that time there were more people that liked his art than those who didn't, so either way everyone had different opinions about it. An informed opinion is that one you give having knowledge on the topic and an uninformed opinion is just giving it without knowing what you are talking about. Taste is a personal preference and bias is an impartial judgment. Warhol’s portraits formal aspects were identical by the way he always tried to create his art according to the situation.

Portraits are important to us in different ways including the fact that there are many people that like to keep portraits of them on different periods of time sometimes just to create a timeline and show future generations how they have change through out the time or they just use it for decorations. Also portraits are useful when identifying you on documents such as passports or id's. Artists have painted portraits throughout the ages because there was a period of time on the ancient time when painting became a famous thing and it was well known everywhere, so everyone just started doing it. I feel good doing a portrait myself because that way I can follow Warhol's thinking and understand how he somehow used his imagination and just expressed it. But either way knowing that something good came out of it because I tried my best out of it. First of all I took a picture of myself and using Photoshop I then erase the background so just the wanting area will appear on the artwork. Then I plug it on the working space and using the ruler I kept it at a certain size. Then I click filter, artistic and cutout. Then I created a group out of the layer and duplicate it 3 more times because I wanted four pictures. After that I used the rectangular tool and clicked on layer, solid color, named the layer and chose a background color. I used the rectangular marquee tool, the magnetic lasso tool, the move tool, and other things like cutout, ruler, solid colors and some adjustments. I see myself using these skills in my future by doing some propaganda depending on the career I chose or helping others with my knowledge.

Adjustments/Enhancements

From this project I learned that we use masks and selections to isolate parts of images, to edit and to cut out images much more easier. I liked how you are able to chose your own image and at the same time be able to express your imagination without anyone telling you how to do it or to do it on a specific way. But is difficult to tell what I dislike about it because on this project we are able to express ourselves. This project relates to web design by using images and changing background because somehow other web images can describe a different thing or message just by the background. Also is important because if you are planning to specialize on this type of course then it is a good practice. And relates to it.

Do now #2

How do we take notes?
We take notes by writing down the most important things about the topic including the ones that are going to help you review for a test, also important dates and events, terms and vocabulary. Taking notes is always the best source of remembering things.

Do now #1

Explain, why attention to detail and following procedure are important elements for  web design?

A/ Attention to detail is important for web design because by listening to the instructions you can get a better understanding of what the teacher wants from you. And following procedure is important as well because you have to do the things as they follow, as they are told to in order to receive a good grade later on.

Image Type

PSD: is the Adobe photoshop's file format able to edit only on this program. In other words the native Photoshop file.
GIF: Is a picture file, it allows you to move pictures around and graphics as well.
JPG: its where the images are been saved and store. Basically is the file of the compressed photo.
PDF: stands for portable document format. This file basically makes the file able to see just on another computer that has the same exact program that is why it is called "portable".
BMP: is one of the most common ones even though it is just another image file format.
PNG: It stands for Portable Network Graphics Files it almost works the same way as JPG but png don't usually gets the image affected by the compressed quantity.

Blog Intro

My name is Ashley Sequeira. I'm a sophomore at Information Technology H.S and I'm 15 years old.
I like to play soccer and to read books. Also I love animals especially dogs. I'm in the web design academy because I felt like I wanted to try something new and test my skills. Web design it's almost the same as graphic design, it allows to be creative and design what you have in mind it also plays an important role on your future including what you would to be or achieve. I expect from this class to learn all the basic stuff and succeed in life, also because taking this course seems to be really interesting.

Lab#4 image adjustments

On this lab i use the duplication tool, to duplicate each picture, also I changed every picture color and to each one I added saturation, black&white, replace color and hue color. So you can see they are all different color and notice the level of saturation it shows. Also I used the horizontal type tool to name them and the move tool to classified them.

rule of thirds

Rule of Thirds is one of the main rules in art. The theory is that the human eye naturally gravitates to intersection points that occur when an image is split into thirds.

Lab 3 image adjustments

Original Photo

In this lab I duplicated pictures, I put a different color on each one of the dogs, and I cut the figures using different tools to make it look as the original picture that is the middle one.I used there rectangular marquee tool first to cut the figure i was going to edit then I used the magnetic lasso tool to cut the figure more clearly. And the polygonal lasso tool to cut the blue and white spaces around it so the hair would show off. This skill is useful because by practicing you will start getting it and by the time you start using it it will get easier and faster because you will manage it. I see it using it in the future in my logo for a future career and I also can share my knowledge with everyone else around me.

My Color Theme

I chose this particular color scheme because it somehow shows how angry i can be sometimes but on the other hand i can be calm and i wont show my anger to others. The first color represents how good i can treat people sometimes and the level of how calm I am, the second color represents my change of humor as time goes on. The third color represents my anger coming up and start showing my emotions. The fourth one shows the intensity of the problem and because its the darkest it shows that it got to the top. And the fifth color shows how i can take things calm after a storm of a strong emotion in this case anger. I chose this color by the intensity and the contrast they don't show that much dark but there is something of that and if notice the first and last color are lighter than the rest.

Selection in photoshop

1.When using the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop you click on the left hand side click on magnetic lasso tool. Then you start your selection on your image, by going around it and creating an edge.

2.Using the magic wand tool you is the same thing selected on the left hand side and then click on your image and start doing it. If you make any mistakes you can always erase the white spaces. This tool is mainly to select pixels.

3.Using the quick selection tool is almost the same but when you use the magic wand tool you could increase the amount of space you want to use. And quick selection selects everything. This tool goes further. And you will be able to find it under the magic wand tool icon.
